Surround Kits all have unique features for surround sound recording. There are three different types of microphone kits and you can read about the details for the individual kits below and their qualities and applications. The microphones can be used in any given configuration, but when used with the dedicated S5 Surround/Decca Tree Mount you’ll have endless of possibilities to capture the nature of the environment in which the mics are placed. The S5 Surround Mount can be used for both Decca as well as numerous Surround main array setups. 


5006-11A Surround Kit

A complete surround kit combining three 4006A Omnidirectional Microphones and two 4011A Cardioid Microphones, carefully factory-matched to achieve full precision.

Even though the standard tolerances on the Pencil Microphone Series are extremely low, the surround match is even closer. The specially-selected 4006A Omnidirectional Microphones are matched within ±0.5 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity. The 4011A Cardioid Microphones are matched within ±1 dB.

The natural sound, high sensitivity, low noise-floor and extremely linear frequency response from 10 Hz to 20 kHz (±2 dB) of the microphones make the 4006A Omnidirectional Microphones the perfect choice for all AB Stereo, Decca Tree or surround main array recordings. The precise reproduction, total transparency and natural-sounding clarity of 4006A Omnidirectional Microphones will provide you with a lifetime of satisfying listening.

The foam design in the heavy-duty transportation box allows for fast and easy exchange of microphone/accessory inlays.
