With 7" woofers, a dedicated 4" driver for the midrange and HEDD's own high-resolution Air Motion Transformer (HEDD AMT), this compact and super-flexible 3-way active monitor offers plenty of power, dynamics and openness even at very high levels. It can be used in close and midfield and is suitable for literally any studio challenge imaginable, be it mixing, producing, the fine art of recording or deep mastering.
Just like the other MK2 models, the TYPE 20 MK2 is a powerhouse of innovation: a powerful SHARC DSP enables the built-in Lineariser® to completely smooth the speaker's phase and create a fascinating stereo image and depth. In addition, the speaker supports HEDD's latest Closed or Ported (CoP) technology. You can choose between two different sound options: To experience maximum precision and detail, insert the custom foam plugs into the bass port and select Closed mode. If you want to run the speakers at higher volumes without sacrificing power and access to deep bass, Open (no plugs) is the way to go.
Other great features include 3 different desktop filters, 2 shelving filters that let you match the speakers to your room even better, and a bass extension mode that lets you access lower frequency ranges (at the cost of some SPL). All controls in the new series are accessible via stepped aluminium potentiometers.
